The elections to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) office bearers and managing committee will be held on Oct.3. Former State Election Commissioner M.R. Hegde, who is the Election Officer, issued the election notification yesterday.
With the Supreme Court allowing the 21-day notification period for the Annual General Body meeting and the holding of elections to relax at the discretion of the amicus curiae P.S. Narasimha and the Registrar of Companies that complied with it, the covers were cleared for the elections to be held with a one-week notice. The AGM will be held the same day at 10.30 a.m. The filing of nominations, that begins today, ends on Sept. 30.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on Sept. 30 between 3 pm and 6 pm and the list of valid nominations will be announced on the same day. Oct.1 will be the last day for withdrawal of nomination.
Elections will be held for 16 positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and Management Committee. The management committee will consist of 11 members, two of whom will be members of life, three from institutions/clubs and one from each of the six zones.
