Bengaluru: In a new year initiative, the KSRTC has decided to provide thermoflask to its night service bus drivers as a measure to prevent early morning accidents.
With most of accidents involving KSRTC buses occurring in the wee hours of morning, the State-run Corporation has decided to provide 500 ML (Half litre) capacity quality thermoflasks to the drivers of night journey buses so that they can fill coffee or tea in them and have it to refresh themselves whenever they feel dizzy during night journey.
The KSRTC is operating 1,600 night services as at present. According to a recent study, most of the road accidents involving KSRTC buses have occurred between 3 am and 4 am in the early morning hours.
In this backdrop, the KSRTC, taking note of passenger safety, has come up with the idea of providing quality thermoflask to its drivers so that they can store hot tea or coffee in them at their journey starting point, as no hotels are open on the route in the wee hours.
This is one of the passenger safety measures taken by the KSRTC in the New Year in addition to the already existing other safety measures.
