Mysuru: Lokayukta sleuths of the Mysuru division this morning raided the office and residence of D. Nagesh, the Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Zonal Office-5, located near Basavanagudi Circle, Hebbal.
The raids were conducted on charges of possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The anti-corruption team conducted simultaneous raids on nine government officials across the State, including in Mysuru, Haveri, Kalaburagi and other districts.
In addition to Nagesh’s residence and office, a raid was also carried out at the MCC main office on New Sayyaji Rao Road, as Nagesh was holding the additional charge of Public Relations Officer (PRO) at MCC. It is unclear whether Nagesh was present during the raid.
Sources revealed that Nagesh, who previously served as the Tahsildar of Srirangapatna Taluk in neighbouring Mandya district, was transferred to the MCC. His residence in Dollars Colony, Srirangapatna, was also raided by Lokayukta personnel, along with his other property in Shivamogga.
Nagesh is alleged to have built an apartment in Dollars Colony, the premises of which were searched as part of the investigation. Nagesh had also served as the Commissioner of Channapatna City Municipal Council (CMC) prior to his current posting.
