Mysore/Mysuru: The passing out parade and certificate distribution ceremony of the 39th batch of Excise Sub-Inspectors’ basic training was held on Monday at the Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) in Nazarbad, Mysuru.
On this occasion, Basavaraj Hadapad, Joint Commissioner of Excise, Mysuru Division, administered the oath to Divya K. Shetty of Kundapura, Udupi, who completed the training and presented her with the certificate. Notably, Divya Shetty was the only trainee from her batch undergoing training at the Academy.
Speaking after the ceremony, Hadapad said that Government enforcement officers who wear the uniform receive their training at the Police Academy. Training at Police institutions helps officers imbibe discipline, develop time management skills, enhance professional abilities and cultivate community oriented thinking, he noted.
He added that under the guidance of the Director of the Karnataka Police Academy and the expertise of the academy’s experienced officers, trainee Divya K. Shetty has received excellent training. He expressed confidence that she would become an efficient officer in her career and also grow into an exemplary individual in her personal life.
KPA Director S.L. Chennabasavanna said that throughout the one year rigorous basic training, she never sought leave or exemption on grounds of health or any other issue. She trained alongside Police Department trainees and completed the programme, he said, appreciating her dedication.
Excise Department officials Mahadevi Bhai, Basavarajappa, Vivek, officers and instructors of the Karnataka Police Academy, and the parents and family members of Divya Shetty were present.
