Lt. Ashok P. Mutgikar cultural fest, contests in city on June 5

Mysore/Mysuru: NCC Alumni Association, Mysuru Group, coordinated by Suvarsha and her team, is organising ‘Veergati Lt. Ashok P. Mutgikar Cultural Fest Championship 2024’ on June 5 at Sarada Vilas College Centenary Hall.

This fest is held in honour of Veergati Lt. Ashok P. Mutgikar, an ex-cadet from Mysuru and a distinguished alumnus of Sarada Vilas College from 1966 to 1970.

Lt. Ashok Mutgikar, the only Cadet Officer from Karnataka to have passed the prestigious ‘D’ Certificate, was killed in action at the age of 22 during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.

The event will be inaugurated by City Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth at 9 am, alongside retired Army officers and officers of all ranks from the Army, Air Force and Navy of Mysuru NCC Group Headquarters. Special guests include Mukund P. Mutgikar, Lt. Ashok Mutgikar’s brother and members of NCC Alumni Association.

The event will feature over 300 cadets participating in various cultural activities, including singing, dance and instrumental performances.

An overall championship trophy will be awarded to Best Performing Battalion or Unit and a special felicitation for Inter-Group Competition – Republic Day Camp cadets from 2023.
