Malaria-free district: Expert team to tour Mysuru on May 29, 30

Independent Assessment Committee comprising a team of experts will be visiting Mysuru district on a two-day tour on May  29 and 30, to evaluate the proposal for official declaration of Mysuru district as ‘Malaria-free District.’ The six-member team including the representatives of the State and Centre was earlier tentatively scheduled to visit the district from May 23 to 25. Now, the schedule of May 29 and 30 has been officially announced. The team will evaluate the relevant conditions related to Malaria and submit a report to the Central Government.

District Vector Borne Diseases Control Officer Dr. S. Chidambara told Star of Mysore that ‘If required, there are possibilities of stretching the evaluation further by a day or two.’
