Mysore/Mysuru: A manhole near Paduvarahalli traffic signal on Hunsur Road is overflowing for the past two months and the sewage water along with human waste is spilling onto the road causing inconvenience to the commuters apart from becoming a health hazard.
The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), which is supposed to address the issue and provide relief to the citizens, is yet to look into the problem.
“This manhole gets clogged frequently during the year and overflows when it rains heavily making it difficult for the public to move around in the road. As a permanent solution is yet not in place, we are forced to close our nose while commuting on this road,” complained a resident of Paduvarahalli.
“Incidents of manhole water splashing onto the clothes of pedestrians are common. Though Star of Mysore had carried a detailed report in this connection on June 8 nothing has been done yet,” complained another resident. They have demanded the MCC to act swiftly and provide a permanent solution to the problem of overflowing manholes across the city including this one.
