MDA site scam: Lokayukta SP seeks additional six months to file final probe report

May 30, 2025

Mysuru: Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP), Mysuru Division, has sought six months additional time from Special Court for Elected Representatives, Bengaluru, to submit a final investigation report on the 50:50 site scam at Mysuru Development Authority (MDA- previously Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA)), in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is the prime accused.

As the Judge of Special Court for Elected Representatives Santosh Gajanan Bhat, resumed hearing of the case yesterday, advocate Venkatesh Arabhatti, appearing for Lokayukta Police, filed an affidavit seeking six months more time to file a final probe report, as the investigating agency was awaiting the permission of the Government to inquire three officials in the case.

RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna, the complainant in the case, who called objection, sought permission from the Court to prove the charges against CM Siddaramaiah and three others accused in the case, as the Lokayukta Police, in their interim probe report have claimed that ‘the charges against Siddaramaiah and others were yet to be proven.’

Krishna said, Lokayukta Police have been buying time to submit the probe report, citing lame reasons. They have even failed to prove the charges, despite granting time to conduct the probe and file the final report. Hence, the Lokayukta SP T.K. Udesh, the Investigation Officer (IO) in the case should be changed and separate First Information Reports (FIRs) should be filed into the cases of irregularities in site allotment at MDA reported between 2016 and 2024, added Krishna in his appeal.

Following this, Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat adjourned the hearing to June 17, besides directing the advocate appearing for Lokayukta Police to file their objection, for the appeals of Krishna.
