March 15 is World Consumer Day. To celebrate it, Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) is holding a consumer awareness programme for the public from 10 am to 4 pm on Wednesday (Mar. 15).
MGP has been conducting such programmes for the last 28 years in various parts of Mysuru. This year, the programme will be held at Nrupathunga Mantapa at the intersection of Adi Pampa Road and Kalidasa Road in V.V. Puram (Vontikoppal), near Mathru Mandali.
In this programme, MGP members will be giving demo-exhibitions on subjects such as detection of food adulteration, removing pesticide residues from vegetables and greens, etc. Advice will be given on how to solve consumer problems.
Booklets on consumer, environmental and civic issues published by MGP will be available to the public on the occasion. Dr. M.M. Shenoi, MGP Secretary, has in a press release requested public to participate in large numbers and make use of the opportunity.
