Sir,
I would like to draw the attention of the authorities to the growing misuse of several public parks in Mysuru. These parks are meant for morning and evening walkers, senior citizens, children and families seeking a healthy environment.
However, it has been increasingly observed that many parks are being misused as open-air bars late in the evening after regular walkers leave.
Groups of people gather inside the parks to consume liquor, leaving behind empty bottles, food parcels and other litter.
The following morning, walkers and visitors are forced to witness an unhygienic and unpleasant environment. Apart from spoiling the beauty of the parks, such activities also create safety concerns for local residents.
Public parks are valuable community spaces intended for recreation and well-being. I request the civic authorities and Police to ensure stricter monitoring, proper lighting and regular patrolling in the parks to prevent such misuse. I hope the concerned will take necessary steps to restore the sanctity and cleanliness of these public spaces.
