Mysuru: A record 418 job offers were made to students of the Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT), Belavadi, Mysuru, during the campus placement this academic year.
Speaking to reporters at Pathrakartara Bhavan here recently, Placement Officer Dr. Mahesh Rao said that MIT has always been very proactive in placing the students into the profiles of their preference. This year, 418 engineering students of various branches got selected in the campus interview against the target of 600 students.
He said representatives of 72 reputed companies, including TCS, Wipro, Mindtree, Cognizant, Carrier Midea, Jilada Group, Color Software, VIT, Global Logic, Odissa Technology among other companies visited the campus for the selection.
The highest starting salary per annum of Rs.13 lakh and an average Rs.3.36 lakh salary has been fixed to students. 24 Civil and 26 Mechanical Engineering students were selected for the first time in large numbers in the campus placement.
He said many more companies are visiting the campus and hiring activity is still going on. MIT Employment Training Officer S.D. Shivasagar, Programme Officer L. Kirankumar and Secretary Dr. Vasudev were present.
