January 1, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: MLC C.N. Manjegowda has advised women to avail Government facilities and lead a financially independent life.

The MLC was speaking  after distributing certificates to the women beneficiaries of training provided under various Government Schemes at a function organised by Jnana Jyothi organisation at Jeevanopaya Kendra (West), Ashokpuram, in the   city recently.

“Make your child an asset to the society rather than making assets for  the child. Mother is the first teacher of a child,” said Manjegowda. Stating that he lost father when he was very young and it was his mother who educated  him, he said that women can give good citizens to the society.

“Women must fight against female foeticide and atrocities and be abreast of current affairs by reading newspapers. By encouraging your children to study to become IAS and KAS Officers, bring them to the mainstream of the society,” advised Manjegowda to women.

MLA T.S. Srivatsa, who also spoke, said: “Even after 75 years of achieving Independence, we have not achieved the desired progress. Central Government has implemented many Welfare Schemes for women. Make use of those Schemes. Get proper training and lead an                                    independent life.”

Mysuru  City Corporation (MCC) Zonal Commissioner H. Nagaraju, former Corporator Sowbhagya Murthy, Jnana Jyothi  Founder-Secretary M.S. Hema were present at the function.
