Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to bridge the gap between neighbours, fostering brotherhood and harmony, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) will be launching a nationwide campaign titled ‘Model Neighbourhood, Model Society’ from tomorrow, which will go on till Nov. 30.
Addressing a press meet at a private hotel in city this morning, JIH State Secretary J. Akbar Ali Udupi said that the campaign is also being held to create awareness about the rights of pedestrians, colleagues, fellow travellers, road rules and traffic discipline, neighbourly rights to society, encouraging mutual care, co-operation, discipline, cleanliness and other social responsibilities.
He further said that lectures, neighbourhood meetings, family visits, cultural events, traffic rules awareness events and rallies by students and youth will be held across the country.
Mysuru District Convenor Abdul Khadar, Mysuru Zone Convenor Abdul Salam Uppinangadi, City President J. Mohammed Aslam, Mysuru Campaign Convenor Khaleel-ur-Rehman Waseem, Mysuru Islamic Foundation Trust Secretary Shaikh Zabiulla and others were present.
