More on ‘widened’ Hunsur Road curve

May 20, 2018

Sir,

Apropos Narasimha Murthy’s letter in SOM dated May 17 which focusses on a very important issue, I would like to add up one more thing. The accidents occurred on the other side of the Hunsur Road. The vehicles hit the tree which is on the curve. The tree which was about five feet away is now on the edge of the road inviting more accidents (observe the scar on its trunk). Instead of nailing reflectors, such trees should be removed.

During last Dasara, SOM had highlighted the photos of many dried up trees and branches sent by me through WhatsApp. The people concerned have removed them now. As this is the best time, I request the environmentalists to plant some more saplings in between the old trees, leaving out the corners.
