Mysuru: In its latest drive, MUDA has reclaimed an MIG (Middle Income Group) House worth Rs. 75 lakh after evacuating the occupant, who was illegally living in the house for the past 15 years.
Some local residents had complained to MUDA about one G.M. Mahadev staying unauthorisedly in MIG House No.48 at Ramakrishnanagar, J Block. Even the Court in an order (Nov. 9. 2021)passed in respect of writ petition No. 8020/2015, had ordered MUDA to evacuate the occupant of the House and subsequently take it over.
Following the Court order, MUDA authorities on Thursday evacuated the occupant of the House and took over its possession.
MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh told ‘Star of Mysore’ that one G.M. Mahadev had illegally occupied the house and was staying in it for the past 15 years. Acting on the Court order, MUDA Staff led by AEE Nagesh, AE Nagaraj and Revenue Inspector Manjunath evicted the illegal occupant from the House, which is currently valued at Rs. 75 lakh and took over its possession.
Following the evacuation, a caution Board has been installed in front of the House stating that the property belongs to MUDA. Stating that MUDA has been receiving complaints about unauthorised occupation of vacant LIG, MIG and HIG houses built by MUDA in different localities, he warned of action against trespassers who occupy such vacant houses.
Asking the illegal occupants to voluntarily vacate houses, Dr. Natesh cautioned that MUDA will take suitable action against unauthorised occupancy of houses.
