Musical play ‘Zikr-e-Ghalib’ on Aug. 22

 ‘Zikr-e-Ghalib,’ a musical play based on poet late Mirza Ghalib’s letters and ghazals, will be presented by Karnataka Urdu Academy (KUA) and Katputhliyan Theatre Group at Kiru Rangamandira in Kalamandira at 7 pm tomorrow (Aug. 22).  

Famous theatre artiste Zafar Mohiuddin will be playing the role of Mirza Ghalib and will be directing the play. Choreography is by Nandini Mehta; ghazal singers are Raghupati Jha and Mona Singh; Khatak dance will be performed by Smitha Srinivasan and lighting designer is Pradeep Belawadi.

The duration of the play is 90 minutes for which entry is free.

Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan and MLA Tanveer Sait will be the chief guests. Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shaik Tanveer Asif will be the guests of honour. KUA Chairman Moulana Mohamed Ali Qazi will preside. KUA Registrar Dr. Maazuddin and KUA Member Dr. Shaistha Yusuff will be present.
