Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust will be observing Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar’s Day tomorrow (Nov. 13) at Sri Prasanna Parvathi Kalyana Mantapa, V.V. Mohalla, Mysuru.
Muthuswamy Dikshitar is revered as one of the music trinity. He was a great composer, singer and veena player. He had mastery over many languages, philosophy, Vedanta, Jyotishshastra etc. His compositions are widely sung in concerts which are scholarly creations with musical embellishments, immersed in the depth of soulfulness of bhava and melody.
The programme will commence at 9.30 am with senior musicians of the city and their disciples offering tributes to Dikshitar by rendering his compositions.
Later at 12 noon, a thematic presentation ‘Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitara Panchalinga Krithiguccha – Ondu Pradakshine,’ conceived and directed by Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, will be held.
