Mysuru on the cusp of major development

December 10, 2021
  • MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh paints a good picture of city at MyRealty-2021
  • All property-related enquiries, model houses, apartments under one roof

Mysore/Mysuru: The three-day mega property show MyRealty-2021, organised by Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre and Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) began this morning at Cosmopolitan Club ground in city. This is for the first time such a major exhibition is being held at the Club premises.

Nearly 35 property developers are participating in the  expo which also showcases layouts, villas, row houses and apartments along with financial institutions. The public at large can benefit from the availability of various affordable housing projects and loan facilities  under one roof. The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 9 pm till Sunday.

The expo was inaugurated by NR Group Chairman R. Guru. Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh, CREDAI Karnataka President Chaitanya Kulkarni, Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda, who is also the President of Cosmopolitan Club, were the guests of honour.

In his address, the MUDA Chairman said that Mysuru is on the cusp of development and has become one of the fastest growing cities in Karnataka after Bengaluru. “Mysuru has a huge potential with a 10-lane expressway till Bengaluru and with flight and rail connectivity. It has become a haven for many builders and many people are opting to buy house sites, apartments and flats in Mysuru. Thanks to its good climate,” he said.

The realty sector that was at its peak two years back has gained momentum now after COVID pandemic and exhibitions like these must be organised every month for more and more tourists to settle here. This would enable a property boom, he said.

Also, MUDA will extend full cooperation to builders and layout creators,” he assured.

R. Guru said that reputed builders, apartment and land developers from Mysuru and Bengaluru are showcasing their projects at the expo and are reaching out to customers with finance options also. All these under one roof, he added. MyRealty-2021 Expo Committee Chairman T.N. Parthasarathi, BAI Mysore Centre Chairman K. Ajit Narayan, Hon. Secretary A.S. Yoganarasimha, CREDAI, Mysore Chapter President N.S. Muralidhar and others  were present.

The most corrupt and inefficient MUDA and MCC have helped land usurping and illegal constructions all around not sparing chamundi hills and other sensitive zones. According to them development means maximum paisa vasool by hook or crook.

  2. Prakash S says:

MUDA is in the hands of corrupt officials. For obtaining licence, one has to bribe the engineers. After completion one has to pay 50000/- to obtain completion report, even though the construction is within the sanction. I don’t know when this system ends

  3. An g says:

It’s so sad to see these idiots spoil every city in the name of development. Mysore my Favorite city will be gone soon🥲These officials make money send their children outside our country.
    Spoiling their own

  4. Ang says:

Just like bangalore Mysore will be gone too soon in name of development. Thanks to the selfish and greedy officials.

  5. swamy says:

I cherish my living in Mysore many decades ago. It was beautiful then with a sleepy town atmosphere. With this development, it will be destroyed beyond imagination.

  6. Dr.Umesh says:

Pl. take the opinion of the citizens. Make it look cleaner and greener. Further expansion may not be needed.

  7. Neil DCosta says:

I cringe when I read about ‘development’ in any city in India. It only translates to destruction of the greenery, peace and tranquility, all with the full blessings of the authorities.

  8. Prasanna Kumar dn says:

We have a site in the Panchayat limits. To issue khata touts are insisting a payment of Rs.7000/- for obtaining the documents. Also panchayat office have insisted payment of Rs.20000/- towards development charges fixed by the govt ..We do not know wither it is genuine..MUDA should make rules more transparent…and eliminate corruption in registration of sites ,issue of documents…ownership.

  9. Xyz says:

This greedy people will spoil Mysore, we don’t need any development, our Mysore is beautiful as is.

  10. Raja says:

It only name shake the MUDA getting money and giving approval to any developers . Still many layouts in Mysore looks very pathetic situation. People living here without basic facilities. Developers cheating people with false commitment. And muda silent for asking the developers. It is shame for living in Mysore.

  11. Garadi Mane Questo says:

    Hey posters
Mysuru that I knew growing up there was long gone by 1970s. The InfoSys development on a greenfield land for which the company paid almost nothing was the last nail in the coffin of the Royal Mysuru.
Look at the number of extensions, the boundary of this City to day. It has already become a Bengaluru in 1980s.
Indians are breeding like rats, Muslims do not have a limit on how many wives they can have, and their population accelerated the most. Indians are now swamping beautiful nature rich country like New Zealnd.

  12. Nandini says:

Mysuru was finished by early 1980, as massive influx of people arrived and settled in areas miles away from the centre of this City. Forest was gone, footpaths disappeared and automobile culture took over. RIP Mysuru.

  13. Gusto says:

Mysuru was long time ago- 5 decades ago, when it lost its very compact boundaries, and the influx of people who hardly speak Kannada anchored i firmly. Good bye Royal Mysuru!

  14. Kautilya says:

Agree. Mysuru was destroyed long time ag. Having left Mysuru and the country early 1970s, a decade later, I had difficulties in finding my locality, as the beautiful flora surrounding there had disappeared, my own street was reaching the Mysuru Zoo-which was unimaginable, and extensions of all kinds sprung up, miles away from the Devaraja Market-which was reduced to nothing, IT Techies doing the cheap outsourced work, nevertheless richer than the locals inflated the housing prices, pedestrians were as rare as the Himalayan Yeti, 2/3/4 wheelers driven by maniacs , were threatening those who dared to stand on a footpath, if they could find one.
In effect the City had become a congested cesspit.
Indians want to escape from this place and they are prepared to do anything to enter a Western country, so m uch so, Indian passports are closely scrutinised, their visa status questioned closely when they try to enter a foreign land.
Wait, for the massive swap of Malayalees now, particularly those who are very rich through gold smuggling from the Gulf countries. They will pay anything for a plot. The boundary then will reach Mandya, half way to Nilgiris etc..! Kannada? What is it will ask the new Mysoreans!!

  15. Harish KM says:

MUDA in the Japanese language means WASTE. Does it ring bells. Need someone say more.

  16. Raj says:

The way dog eats shit… these burocrates and politicians eat everything around them until they die. Mysore is already loosing its charm..So sad and pathetic common man’s life

  17. Ani says:

Mysuru is destroyed enough don’t make it another Bengaluru plz. Stop before you ruin it completely. For those who genuinely don’t own any property MUDA never took interest to allot site instead it went into hands of rich who could bribe enough. Plot was alloted to wife and husband from the same family in the same year who already have property in their respective names!
    Shame on officials.

  18. Prasanna says:

Kindly dont ruin the Heritage City in guise of so-called development

  19. Sridevi M V says:

Please asphalt the damaged and worsen to walk roads first. Development will be automatically. No further development is needed for Mysore. Clean the garbage hills which is dirtied by MCC itself. and install proper street light in the existing localities of the city. Moreover will this currupt MCC take care of basic necessities of the citizens properly. Unnecessary tree felling, illigal encroachment of properties do not come under development.

  20. Gautam says:

It is ridiculous and delusion to call Mysuru of 2021 a heritage City. Except the Palace standing, needing massive repairs, Chamumdi Hill, recetly touted as a centre for Astronomy research, and its crumbling day by day, the serenity of the City long vanished, only a fool will think that any heritage is left with massive numbers of people arriving and taking residences who are not Kannadigas by culture.
Mysuru has lost its characteristics since declared as a heritage city.
When the Swimming Pool extension inn Malleswaram was proposed in 1960s, Bengaloreans objected fersaring the influx of Tamils and Malayalees, and it did happen and changed the character of that city.

With the prosed train and road projects from Kerala to Mysuru- Modi wants this as he wants to win in Kerala, and he has completely neutered Karnataka government’s objections, Mysuru becomes an epicentre of gold smuggling Malayalee criminal gangs, who will come in massive numbers to reside in the city and surrounding towns and villages. Soon, the current airport will be expanded to take the passenger jets, with Qatar and Emirtates airways bringing not only the Malayalee smugglers every day, but the Gulf Sheikhs and their wide circle of relatives. These Muslim oligarchs from the Gulf have penchant for drinking which they cannot do at home and indulge in prostitution aided and abetted by these Malaylees who are already doing this in Gulf countries. These Malayalees also establish fake goods manufacturing centres in Mysuru neighbourhoods, so that they can flood the market with fake Rolex,Nikes etc.. , and not to speak of hard drugs. Well, blame your BJP government, and Congress too -Rahul and Tharoor have Kerlaa constituencies! Siddu will nod like a sheep to them.

  21. Sachin says:

Before we support or oppose the plan, can the authorities discharge their duty and responsibility by transparently disclosing to the public the following information :
    (1) What is “major” and what is “development”
    (2) Does the plan include for the following
    (a) waste/garbage collection, recycling?
    (b) How and where?
    (c) piped municipal water facility from day 1 ?
    (d) footpaths, roads as per existing specifications?
    (e) where and how sewerage flows?
    (f) how and where it is treated?
    (g) what is done after treatment?
    (h) where is the landfill proposed?
    (i) Have bus services been planned to be available on day 1?
    (j) All other stipulated civic amenities and neccesities would be made available from day 1?
    (k) If there are any/whenever/where ever violations in planning, tendering, execution, quality, time delays, deviations from the proposed plan, who all are accountable, responsible and actionable?
    etc etc
Other may please add to this list.

  22. boregowda says:

Totally agree with @Sachin. In western countries, any development plan has inputs from its citizen under citizen participation. Has the corrupt MUDA and MCC heard of this concept and follow the process????
