Draws upside down portrait of Bhagat Singh in 60 seconds

Mysuru: The talents on display in any field is mind boggling to watch and when one creates a world record it makes everyone to stand up and watch the unfolding craft in awe. One such who is making waves is S. Puneeth Kumar, a 25-year-old youth of Nadanahalli village near Mysuru who has created a fastest upside-down painting of Sahid Bhagat Singh in 1 minute on a canvas measuring 5 feet x 5 feet and set a New World Record on July 29, 2019.

Puneeth, influenced by the fastest painter in Asia, Vilas Naik and like Ekalavya of the Mahabharatha fame, has been successful in following his mentor’s work at distance and finding success. There are many who in spite of the best teachers available to train under, fail to draw even simple lines, but Puneeth, without any formal training, managed to do speed drawing that too upside down and uploaded it on the internet and thus drawn the attention of the World Records India organisation.

He is not only involved in this unique art but also is versatile in drama, dance and music which he teaches to his neighbours children and thus is popular among the kids who call him affectionately as Anna (elder brother).

Talent is something inborn and there could be many such hidden ones who without any help explore it themselves. Puneeth, an art teacher in a school, who comes from a humble background, lost his father at a young age and hence he slowly nurtured his skills and created this World Record.

He started learning this art when he was going to school and later, he drew in schools, colleges, on important roads and to cover ugly patches, besides painting beautiful figures on walls. Later, he started drawing portraits of famous personalities, achievers, film stars, including freedom fighters upside down. He has become very popular now for his upside down drawing and thus his drawing of well-known freedom fighter Bhagat Singh upside down in one minute has not only helped him create World Record, but also brought him laurels from all over the world.
