Come February, Mysureans can once again revel in a carnival-like atmosphere after two Open Street Festivals in the city centre on D. Devaraja Urs Road during Dasara in September 2017 and Mysuru Winter Festival in December 2017.
Thanks to Ladies Circle India, the othwerwise quiet city of Mysuru will come alive with the hustle and bustle at its first-ever Day & Night market, La Marqueta Carnaval, on February 17, 2018.
La Marqueta is a carnival of curated shopping, food and entertainment experience from all over the country. When asked about the kinds of brands participating in the carnival, the Managing Director of the event and member of the organising team of Ladies Circle India, Nidhi Shah said, “We want to create a unique experience by bringing in brands that have never been showcased in Mysuru. Brands like The Summer House, Flames of the Forest, House of Eka, Viseasha and Quirksmith, to name a few, have the aesthetic that the youth of this city is looking for. We also have DJs performing throughout the day, popular food trucks from Bengaluru coming in, a headlining music act and much more.”
What makes this event unique is the fact that it is all for a charitable cause. The proceeds will go towards the Ladies Circle India Charitable Organisation. Mysore Ladies Circle-9 is one of the oldest chapters in this organisation.
Known world over for their unrelenting efforts in educating the underprivileged, Mysore Ladies Circle-9 hopes to draw attention to their cause “Educate to Enlighten” through this mega event. To reach out to this group of underprivileged children by adopting schools, improving infrastructure, providing scholarship grants, health camps and quality of education by teacher training programmes has been the sole mission of this organisation.
This time the shopping carnival will not be at the Central Business District (CBD) but at the foot of Chamundi Hill on the lawns of Windflower Resort and Spa, Mysuru, from 12 noon onwards on Feb. 17 into the night.
