Name ORR after S.M. Krishna: Fans Association President

December 28, 2024

Mysuru: President of S.M. Krishna Fans Association Vikrant P. Devegowda has demanded that ‘the Outer-Ring Road (ORR) in the city should be named after former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, who passed away recently.’

S.M. Krishna was the reason for ORR to become a reality. The Vikrant Tyres (now J.K. Tyre) in the city, was established during  his tenure as Industries Minister. He also sanctioned land for Infosys here and took measures for the widening of Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway, to streamline traffic movement.

Through Government owned Keonics, Krishna provided a platform for the economically weaker students from rural areas to learn computer. The Congress workers were also benefitted then, with the sanctioning of sites for them, along with nominating the leaders from the city to Boards and Corporations.

The District Administration should take a call on naming ORR after S.M. Krishna, considering the latter’s enormous contributions to the city, urged Vikrant Devegowda.
