Mysore/Mysuru: “The messages and teachings of Bhagavad Gita are essential elements that guide the restless minds of young people toward the path of achievement and our cultural heritage,” said cultural thinker and Professor Dr. Jyothi Shankar.
She shared these thoughts during the inauguration of ‘Nartana Deepthi’ event led by Vidu. C.N. Anitha and organised by Nrutya Vidya Peeta – Academy of Classical Dance and Indian Arts, Mysuru, last evening at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira.
Emphasising the importance of following the teachings of Lord Sri Krishna in Bhagavad Gita, Dr. Jyothi said that reading Bhagavad Gita not only fosters religious commitment but also facilitates success in life. She underlined that the Indian heritage, with its uniqueness, stands out compared to others.
“Living a life based on truth and non-violence, guided by the principles of Dharma preached by Sri Krishna, leads to a happy and peaceful existence,” Dr. Jyothi further stated.
She lauded the comprehensiveness of Sri Krishna’s teachings, which encompass all aspects of life and are conveyed through numerous shlokas in Bhagavad Gita.
The dance programme featured performances by B.J. Manisha, Tanisha Vijaykumar, H. Janmitha, Neha D.S. Reddy, R. Supritha and N. Manassi. Their performances were accompanied by S. Anagha on natuvanga, Nayana Nagaraj on vocal, Vid. G.T. Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Tandavamurthy on violin.
Tala Lahari witnessed captivating performances by Samhita G. Kiran, K.Y. Kushi, Bhoomika Pandu, Parinitha Anand, Lakshmana Dinesh, M.S. Nagashree, S. Sanchita, Ananya Sajjanar, and Suma Kiran.
Sowmya Nrithya Shala Director S. Sowmya Rani, Sri Haripriya, M.K. Shobha, Vaishnavi L. Urs and S. Rakshitha were present on the dais.
