Mysuru: Nrityalaya Trust has organised ‘Nartana Mandaara,’ a solo Bharatanatyam recital by Vidu. K.S. Pallavi, disciple of Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall, Krishnamurthypuram, on Oct. 21 at 6 pm. She will be accompanied on Natuvanga by Guru Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Vocal – Vidu. Dharitri Ananda Rao, Flute – Vid. A.P. Krishna Prasad, Mridangam – Vid. H.L. Shivshankaraswamy, Violin – Vid. M.D. Arjun and Rhythm Pad – Vid. H.L. Ananthakrishna.
Kannada and Culture Asst. Director H. Channappa will inaugurate. KSGH Music and Performing Arts University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar will preside. Surabhi Gana Kala Mandira Director Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar, Fine Arts College Professor Vidu. Dr. Sheela Sridhar and art critic Dr. Rama V. Bennur will be the chief guests. Deepika Madhava will compere.
‘Nartana Mandaara,’ choreographed and directed by Dr. Tulasi, depicts seven types of Shiva Tandava in detail. Another item ‘Goundali Sasya,’ a predominant dance form of Karnataka till 13th century, is being showcased. ‘Goundali’ has to dance with playing ‘Trivali’ instrument by herself.

Daughter of K.M. Srinivas Murthy (retd. Deputy Conservator of Forests) and Sumithra Murthy, K.S. Pallavi was initiated into the Dance World by Vidu. Amble Rajeswari at Hassan. Later on she pursued her passion under the able tutelage of Dr. Tulasi in Mysuru since 12 years.
She has actively participated in all the festivals and innovative productions of Nrityalaya. She has completed her proficiency in Bharatanatyam.
Pallavi has the credit of presenting Lec-Demo along with her Guru on prestigious stages. She is the assistant tutor at Nrityalaya. She has also been appointed as a dance faculty at Kalabharati, a cultural wing of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru, since 5 years. Pallavi is an Engineer (Electronics and Communication) and holds a Master’s Degree in Signal Processing from VVCE, Mysuru.
