I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a policy that disallows app-based cabs and autorickshaws from entering the front and back gates of the Mysuru City Railway Station for passenger pick-up.

This regulation has created immense hardship for travellers, especially senior citizens, people with mobility challenges and families with young children. Expecting them to walk nearly 600 metres with heavy luggage is not only unreasonable but reflects a lack of empathy and consideration for passenger well-being.

In today’s age of convenience and digital services, app-based transportation has become an essential part of urban commuting. Preventing these vehicles from accessing pick-up points defeats the purpose of ensuring smooth and efficient passenger transitions and leaves many stranded or forced to make cumbersome detours.

We urge you to reconsider this restriction and allow designated zones or timed access for app-based cabs and autos to enter the station gates for pick-ups. A well-managed system can ensure security and order without compromising accessibility.

I trust the Railway authorities will take swift action to restore convenience for all passengers.
