Mysuru:  Former ZP member H.N. Vijaykumar of JD(S) took charge as the new Chairman of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) here on Thursday evening.

Vijaykumar, who is a native of Haradanahalli in K.R. Nagar taluk of the district, is a close associate of Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh.

Speaking to presspersons after taking charge, Vijaykumar said that he was thankful to CM H.D. Kumaraswamy, Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh and District Minister G.T. Devegowda for nominating him as the MUDA Chairman.

Pointing out that the MUDA Budget (2019-20) has already been presented, he said that all projects announced by MUDA will be executed in stages, after consulting the officials concerned.

Listing out his priorities, Vijaykumar said that he would use his experience as ZP member in implementing works. He further said that he will make all efforts to ensure the victory of JD(S) candidate in the forthcoming LS polls.

MUDA Commissioner P.S. Kantharaj, Superintending Engineer (SE) Suresh Babu, City Planning Member Girish, Chief Accounts Officer Mutha, Corporator and MUDA member SBM Manju and others were present.
