Mandya: Dr. R.M. Mahalingegowda, Senior Professor of the College, took charge as the new Principal of PES College of Engineering, Mandya, on May 1. 

He did his B.E from University of Mysore, M.E from University of Roorkee and Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has served as Head of Department of Civil Engineering and Dean (Research) of the College.  

He has been honoured with gold medal by University of Roorkee for securing first place in M.E and Dr. M.G. Deshpande Memorial Prize for Best Paper presentation at international conference. 

He has also served as Member of Board of Examinations of VTU and Bangalore University and Chairman of BOE of Autonomous PES College of Engineering.

Son of Muguregowda and Madhamma, he has carried out consultancy work for MySugar Company, Mandya, Gemini Distilleries, Nanjangud and Vikrant Tyres, Mysuru.
