Nowadays it has become common to link Aadhaar Number to each and every transactions made and to be made by the citizen of the country. For example, Aadhaar is sought for getting admission of children to school, getting a bank account opened and also for Permanent Account Number (PAN).

But it is quite surprising why the authorities relating to conducting the Assembly and Parliament elections have not made linking of Aadhaar compulsory for the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC).

Will the authorities concerned think seriously on this issue to avoid any such irregularities in smooth conduct of elections, so that fool-proof identity of the voter can be established while casting the vote?
