Octogenarian dies as bus hits

Mysore/Mysuru: An octogenarian was killed on the spot when a KSRTC bus ran over his head at Vivekananda Circle in city this morning.

The deceased has been identified as D.J. Parshwanathiah (81), a resident of Srirampura in city.

At about 7 am today, Parshwanathiah was proceeding on his electric scooter (KA-09-JV-2829) towards Vivekananda Circle to purchase vegetables and when he took a turn, a KSRTC bus (KA-57-F-1658), which came from KSRTC Depot brushed against the scooter resulting in him falling to his right side and rear wheel of the bus ran over his head.

Kuvempunagar Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides seizing both the vehicles involved in the mishap.
