Sir,
Apropos to the front page report on ‘Quacks’ published in Star of Mysore dated Jan. 23, 2022, I have observed these tents pitched in at several places in the city simultaneously, that too in winter season.
As a layman anyone would get attracted by the roots and shoots and many eerie things kept in bottles and advertising over mike, calling gullible citizens who would be hesitant to disclose about their certain health problems with a ‘gentleman doctor’ but feel free to get into the tent and bear out their mind and body to get a treatment secretively.
Well, I have been wondering if the medicines or herbs sold by these quacks are so good, why on earth are those quacks and their families in such bad physical and financial conditions?
The Mysuru City Corporation authorities, with the help of the Police, should take suo motu action like the courts and round up these quacks who operate on roadsides without licence and proper certifications. I feel there are enough provisions in the existing law to take action against these roadside medical practitioners who endanger the health of the public.
