Mysore/Mysuru: A scooter rider was killed, while another rider and pillion rider sustained serious injuries, when their scooters collided head-on at Kuvempunagar here on Tuesday night.

The deceased is Goutham (22), a resident of Srirampura and the injured are Manoj and Anirudh, who are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city.

On Tuesday night at about 8 pm, Manoj and Anirudh were proceeding on a Suzuki Access Scooter (KA-09-HV-0797) when Goutham, who was riding a TVS Aprilia scooter (KA-09-HW-9351) collided head-on with the other scooter on Nrupatunga Road. Goutham, who sustained grievous injuries in the accident, was rushed to a private hospital where he breathed his last at about 10 pm. 

K.R. Traffic Inspector Vinay, who has registered a case, is investigating.
