Bylakuppe: A contractor was killed while two others sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling, rammed into an electric pole near Mantanahalli village in Periyapatna taluk on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Arun (38), a resident of Bylakuppe while the injured are Arun and Ravi, who have been admitted to a hospital.

It is said that Arun and his two friends were proceeding towards Bylakuppe in the car on Tuesday night when the person behind the wheels of the car lost control of the vehicle, which rammed into the electric pole killing Arun on the spot and leaving two others injured.

A case has been registered at Bylakuppe Police Station.
