Mysuru: Mayor M.J. Ravikumar and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner G. Jagadeesha have appealed to the people of the city to participate in Swachh Survekshan to help Mysuru regain the top spot in the country for cleanliness for the third time.
Motivating the people to download Swachhata app and participate in the survey by registering complaints, Ravikumar said that just as one keeps the houses clean, one should also see that their surroundings are kept clean. “As 1,400 marks has been allotted for residents’ participation, I request everyone to download the app and participate,” he said.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday at the Council Hall, Ravikumar and Jagadeesha said that the Corporation has decided to pick five lucky winners who participate in Swachh Survekshan and give Rs.10,000 cash prize each.
“In Swachh Survekshan this time, out of the 4,000 marks, 1,400 marks is earmarked for residents’ participation. In this, the use of Swachhata app has been given a lot of importance. So far only 4,000 people have registered, whereas 18,000 people have to participate. Another 14,000 still have to use the app. Hence, we request the citizens to download the app in large numbers and help the city regain the top spot,” said Ravikumar.
