June 29, 2025

Mysuru: Condemning the deaths of a tigress and her four cubs in MM Hills Forest area, members of Karnataka Hitharakshana Vedike staged a protest on D. Devaraj Urs Road in city yesterday.

Demanding that the incident be taken seriously, the protestors demanded stringent action against those responsible for the death of five tigers besides seeking action on Forest officials for their negligence.

The society and the Government have given importance to tigers and it is shocking to hear the deaths of five tigers, the protestors said and accused the Forest Department of negligence leading to the death of five tigers. They demanded strict action against the culprits and added that allowing large crowds to Tiger Reserves had led to such an incident.

Pointing out that homestays and resorts were mushrooming in Forest areas, leading to such incidents, the protestors demanded that the Government look into this at the earliest.

Vedike President Vinay Kumar, Wildlife Photographer Umesh, J. Raghavendra, S.N. Rajesh, Nanjundi, Ravichandra, Neethu, Manjunath, Ravi, Yatish Babu, Eshwar and others took part                                    in the protest.
