Mysuru: As part of the Swachh Survekshan Abhiyan mooted by the Union Government, representatives of Quality Council of India (QCI) undertook a survey of maintenance of public toilets to declare the city as ‘Open defecation-free.’

The representatives went around Sub-urban Bus Stand, Ashoka Circle, Mysore Palace, Gokulam, Kuvempunagar, Bannimantap and other places.
MCC Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj and staff provided the needed assistance.
The Swachh Survekshan Abhiyan had got good publicity through installation of digital sign boards by the MCC.
Sources said that the inspection of QCI representatives was not disclosed to media earlier by MCC Officers as directed by QCI.
