Mysuru: Demanding rectification of Underground Drainage (UGD) system which is in a bad shape, the residents of Raghavendranagar Layout 10th Cross staged a protest against MCC authorities and the area Corporator yesterday evening.

Speaking to SOM, the residents said that the UGD system in the layout was in a bad shape since many years and added that even the garbage was not being cleared frequently. They said that though they complained to the area Corportator and the MCC authorities through phone and met them personally, no action has been taken till now.

They alleged that the Corporator was not giving importance to cleanliness and added that despite the UGD system is in a worst shape, they did not even bother to visit the area. The residents said that during monsoon, sewage water enter houses as the UGD pipeline gets blocked and added that they have to spend sleepless nights when rain begins to pour.
