Road cuttings not asphalted by MCC

August 25, 2023

Sir,

For the purpose of laying of a cable or water line or for any related repairs of these by cutting the road, MCC collects the road cutting fee and then gives nod.

After the work is over, generally it is seen that such road cuttings are filled haphazardly and without any subsequent asphalting. Such poor road cutting fillings, over a period of time and when it rains, become loose and pave way for trenches, which may lead to accidents.

It is also observed that such trenches are made good only when a new road is made and till such time, it will become a nightmare for the road users.

I hope that the new MCC Commissioner will address this issue in a much novel way and protect the interests of the commuters.
