‘Rotary Kadamba’ theatre award conferred

March 28, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Senior actor Shankar Ashwath said that artistes should undergo all kinds of theatre training before they take up acting.

He was speaking after conferring ‘Rotary Kadamba’ theatre award on senior theatre artiste Indira Nair and theatre organiser Deepak, at a programme jointly organised by Rotary Mysore North and Kadamba Rangavedike at Rotary Hall on JLB road here on Friday.

Stressing on the need for theatre artistes to have command over language, he bemoaned wrong usage of Kannada in teleserials as well as in films. There is no point in adapting to latest technology when we do not have hold over the language and its appropriate usage, he noted.

Rotary North President L. Channabasavaraju, Secretary C. Prashanth, Kadamba Ranga Vedike President Rajashekar Kadamba, Secretary G. Subbanarasimha and others were present on the occasion.
