Mysore/Mysuru: The coveted ‘Sangeetha Choodamani’ award, given by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha of Chennai, will be conferred on Internationally acclaimed Violin Maestros from Mysuru, Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath, well-known as Mysore Brothers.
Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, one of the frontline cultural organisations of the country, is considered a major centre for Karnatak Music.
The award ‘Sangeetha Choodamani’ will be presented to Mysore Brothers on Dec. 14 at the Annual Music Conference of Sri Krishna Gana Sabha during the Chennai Margazhi Music Season.
Dr. Manjunath and Mysore Nagaraj (the sons and disciples of renowned violinist Prof. Mahadevappa) are considered Top Ranking Violinists and have enthralled music-lovers all over the world. Their violin concerts have been featured in world class venues like Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, Oxford University, Chicago World Music Festival, Federation Square in Melbourne, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival in New Mexico, to name a few. Mysore Brothers have recently been awarded prestigious Vadya Padma Award from the Brahma Gana Sabha of Chennai.
