They had kidnapped a boy from B’luru for Rs. 30 lakh ransom

Nagamangala: Seven alleged kidnappers, who had reportedly kidnapped a boy from a rich family from Bengaluru and held him for Rs. 30 lakh ransom, have been arrested by Nagamangala Town Police.

Those arrested are Mahesh, Mohan, Navyanth, Bharat, Joseph, Ravikiran and Raju, all residents of Vidyaranyapuram in Bengaluru. They had allegedly kidnapped one Naveen from Bengaluru and had kept him in a lodge at Nagamangala after taking two rooms on rent. They had demanded Rs. 30 lakh ransom to release the boy.

It is learnt that as the kidnappers received Rs. 30,000 cash from the boy’s side, they had released the boy, who had called his parents over the phone and informed them about his release.

The boy’s parents, following the release of their son, informed the same to Tilaknagar Police in Bengaluru, where they had lodged the complaint and also provided the phone number from which the boy had called them.

Tilaknagar Police then called the boy over the phone and collected information about the place where he was release and after coming to know that the boy was release in Nagamangala, Tilaknagar Police called Nagamangala Town Sub-Inspector Ravikiran over the phone and explained him about the incident besides informing him about the place of the kidnappers.

Soon, Sub-Inspector Ravikiran formed a team and in a swift operation, raided the place where the kidnappers were staying, arrested all the seven alleged kidnappers and handed them over to Tilaknagar Police.
