Department of Labour has invited entries from achievers from the unorganised labour sector for conferring of ‘Shrama Samman’ Award. Unorganised labour workers such as coolies, tailors, rag pickers, construction workers, mechanics, laundrymen, transport workers, domestic workers, gold smith, bar-benders, pottery makers, hair dressers, rice mill workers etc., can apply. Applications can be obtained from the Department of Labour, No. 35/A, J.G. Complex New Kantharaj Urs Road, Kuvempu Nagar, Mysuru and the filled-in application form must be returned along with all supporting documents, before Feb.18, according to a press release.
