Mysore/Mysuru: The Silver Jubilee celebrations of city’s Kadali Mahila Vedike and conferment of ‘Kadali Shri’ award will take place on July 27  at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road at 10.30 am.

Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Kadali Mahila Vedike President Sharada Shivalingaiah said that the programme  has been organised in association with the City and District Units of Sharana Sahitya Parishat.

“ Former Minister Dr. Leeladevi R. Prasad will inaugurate the event in the presence of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Gadag’s Yedeyur Tontadarya Mutt Seer Dr. Tontada Siddarama Swamiji. Veteran Littérateur G.R. Channabasappa (Go.Ru. Channabasappa) will  release the book ‘Vyragyanidhi – Jagada Sojiga,’ based on the life of Akkamahadevi. Noted actress Malavika Avinash will release the Souvenir ‘Beladingalu.’ Akhila Bharat Sharana Sahitya Parishat President Dr. C. Somashekar will preside”, she said.

‘Kadali Shri’ award will be presented to former Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru Director and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Vijayalakshmi Deshamane.

Valedictory will be held at 3 pm in the presence of Murugha Rajendra Mutt Seer Sri Mallikarjun Murugharajendra Swamiji and President of Mudabidri’s Alvas’ Education Foundation M. Mohan Alva.

City entrepreneur Chaya Nanjappa and JSS Dental College faculty and mountaineer Dr. Usha Hegde will be felicitated.
