Mysuru: Day-by-day, the city is reeling under intense heat due to soaring temperature and the residents have to brace the heat further if the pre-monsoon fails.
With the rising summer heat, the demand for air coolers and air conditioners (AC) has also increased with many shops having brisk sale of these electronic cooling equipment.
Though the heat during day is expected, the temperature during night is not giving any respite from heat.
According to statistics from India Meteorological Department in Bengaluru, the maximum temperature recorded in city on Apr. 1 and 2 was 36.5 Degree Celsius, Apr. 3- 36 Degree Celsius, Apr. 4 – 35.9 Degree Celsius and on Apr. 5 and 6 the temperature was 36 Degree Celsius.
On Apr.7 and 8, the maximum temperature touched 37.9 degree Celsius and people are seeking respite with cooling systems like ACs, air coolers, fans etc. India Meteorological Department has predicted the maximum temperature of 35 to 36 degree Celsius in the coming days and the temperature is expected to drop a little with possibility of rainfall this weekend.
Mysuru city had recorded the highest temperature of 39.9 degree Celsius on Apr. 22, 2016.
Meanwhile, Mysuru City witnessed the first spell of pre-monsoon rainfall yesterday.
