Mysuru: St. Philomena’s College has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Institute of Plastic Engineering Technology (CIPET), Mysuru, for academic exchanges to enhance their collaborative projects/ activities recently. This initiative was taken up under the auspices of Chemistry Department of the College.
The MoU is also intended to recognise the general basis for a collaborative working relationship between the two institutions in education, training and technical cooperation in chemistry related topics and have agreed to jointly undertake internship programmes for chemistry students, faculty development programmes for the faculty of chemistry, project works, in-plant training, academic curriculum development and referral of chemistry students to pursue higher education plastic processing and moulding technology.
The said MoU was signed by R.T. Nagaralli, Director and Head and Suman, Administrative Officer of CIPET-CSTS and Dr. T. Ruth Shantha Kumari, College Principal and Rev. Dr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector/ Manager of the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ruth Shantha Kumari said that the signing of the MoU was a defining moment for both the institutes and such partnership will facilitate the institutes in achieving larger goals of self-reliance. She also called upon the staff of the college to be motivated from this and put efforts to enter into agreements with other reputed institutions.
R.T. Nagaralli, the Director/Head of CIPET-CSTS, gave a brief introduction of CIPET-CSTS institute through power point presentation and urged the staff to motivate the students to take up skilled training in the form of internship, project work etc.
Dr. Ravi J.D. Saldanha, Associate Chemistry Professor, St. Philomena’s College, welcomed. Ronald Prakash Cutinha, IQAC Co-ordinator of the College, proposed a vote of thanks.
