Steel cups replace plastic at Energy Minister’s CESC review meet

June 4, 2025

In a symbolic step towards sustainability, steel drinking water cups were placed on the desks, dais, and seating areas ahead of a progress review meeting chaired by Energy Minister K.J. George with officials of the CESC in Mysuru.

The initiative is part of CESC’s eco-friendly shift aimed at phasing out single-use plastic. The Corporation has been gradually replacing disposable plastic cups with reusable steel alternatives to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices. Officials said the move reflects CESC’s commitment to greener operations and a cleaner, healthier future, aligning with growing efforts to combat plastic pollution, a major global concern.
