Street-light issue plagues residents of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase

June 18, 2024

Sir,

The residents of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase, are grappling with a significant inconvenience due to non-functional street-lights on the streets near house numbers 11850 to 11870.

Despite multiple complaints to the authorities concerned, the issue remains unresolved, leaving the neighbourhood in darkness and raising concerns over safety and security.

The street-light malfunction has been a persistent problem for several months, with residents reporting a complete lack of illumination during the night. This has not only caused inconvenience but has also heightened the risk of accidents and crime in the area.

Despite the repeated complaints and follow-ups by the residents, the response from the authorities has been lacklustre.

Muda and the Department concerned have cited various reasons for the delay, ranging from technical issues to budget constraints. However, these explanations have done little to alleviate the concerns of the affected residents.

When contacted, a representative from the MCC stated, “We are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution. There have been some logistical challenges that have caused the delay, but we assure the residents that the street-lights will be fixed soon.”

In conclusion, the ongoing street-light problem in Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase, near house numbers 11850 to 11870 is a matter of serious concern that demands prompt attention. The residents are hopeful that their plight will soon be addressed, bringing an end to their nightly woes and restoring normalcy to their lives.
