Sir,
Train number 12613/12614 Tipu Express runs in the morning from Mysuru to Bengaluru at 11.30 am. As the train shares its rake with 120651/120652 Bengaluru-Talaguppa Express and 12725/12726 Bengaluru-Dharwad Express, this train further continues its journey from Bengaluru to Dharwad after 2pm.
Similarly, the down train from Dharwad (No. 12726) Siddaganga Express arrives at 2.30 pm in Bengaluru and resumes its journey towards Mysuru as Tipu Express at 3.15 pm. All the three daily running trains share their rake in a cycle thus causing confusion among the passengers.
As all the rakes carry four destinations displayed on the train’s name boards (that is Mysuru, Talaguppa, Dharwad and Bengaluru), it further affects many passengers on the platform in the last minute due to simultaneous announcements related to arrival and departure of Tipu Express and Siddaganga Express.
Railways may amalgamate both the rakes of Tipu-Siddaganga Express only to operate it as a single rake train between Mysuru-Dharwad via Bengaluru. This move will ensure seamless rail travel between Mysuru-Dharwad through a single journey booking and avoid confusion. It is also suggested to discontinue the existing RSA (Rake Share Arrangement)of these two trains with 120651/120652 Bengaluru-Talaguppa Express.
The suggested idea to de-link the present RSA arrangement will enable the Railways to operate accordingly and further meet the high demand between Mysuru- Dharwad. The augmentation of an AC Chair Coach (C1) and a new Pantry Car Coach (PC1) is long overdue in both the trains and may perhaps be justified with the idea operating the same as single rake train by de-linking RSA arrangement.
Hence, the Railway authorities are requested to look into the suggestion of de-linking the RSA between Tipu – Siddaganga Express to amalgamate it as a single rake train between Mysuru-Dharwad.
