SWR Mysuru Division observes “Swachhata Pakhwada” Fortnight

Mysore/Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, is observing “Swachhata Pakhwada” Fortnight across the Division from Sept. 16 to 30.

Rahul Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Mysuru, launched the programme by administering the Swachhta Pledge to the officers and staff at the amphitheatre in Divisional Office premises on yesterday. 

He called upon staff at all levels to give their best performance and in the most effective way during the observance of the Pakhwada for making it a very successful campaign and to bring about a visible difference.

During this fortnight, special focus will be on cleanliness at railway stations, offices, Railway colonies, Railway Hospitals/units and onboard trains with substantial involvement and participation of staff on all the days of the campaign. 

Different themes on cleanliness has been selected such as Swachhta Samwad (dialogue) with rail-users, Swachh stations/trains, community day for anti-littering campaigns seeking co-operation of public/other stakeholders, clean work place, clean environment, clean food & water, clean toilets as also inter-division competitions. The activities are planned with strict adherence to COVID protocols.   Feedback provided by passengers on the ways to promote cleanliness at stations/onboard trains will be reviewed for initiating action wherever necessary, he added.

Intensive awareness campaign using social media platforms, street plays by Scouts and Guides, audio/video clips to motivate & involve passengers and others are also part of the programme during the fortnight.
