Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Minister for Higher Education, said that the Government will fill up 1,800 lecturer and Principal posts in Government First Grade Colleges across the State. Speaking at a workshop organised for Syndicate Members of State Universities here on Friday, Dr. Ashwathnarayan said that the recruitment will be made through a written test to be conducted by the respective Universities under which the Colleges come.

Announcing that a Task Force has been set up to implement the new National Education Policy, he said that the implementation of the Policy will help in getting accreditation for colleges, resolving academic issues, protection of college properties etc., 

Maintaining that higher education will be promoted through Mysuru-based KSOU, he said that the establishment of Youth Empowerment Centres will help in making the youth more employable.
