Temple Road – KRS Road traffic signal non-functional

August 31, 2024

Sir,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the continued non-functioning of the traffic signal at the junction of KRS Road and Vontikoppal Temple Road, despite my earlier complaint.

Along with my letter to the editor of SOM dated 30.7.2024, I had also written to the V.V. Mohalla Traffic Police Station.

The station replied on 26.8.2024, indicating that a technician was contacted and that the issue stems from an expired contract with the concerned authority.

While this explanation is informative, it does not address the urgent problem at hand. The traffic signal at this busy intersection remains non-operational, continuing to endanger the lives of drivers and pedestrians daily.

The apparent lack of accountability and the delay in resolving this issue are highly alarming.

Passing responsibility between different parties does not absolve any stakeholder from ensuring public safety. It is imperative that the authorities concerned, Traffic Police here, take immediate and decisive action to restore the functionality of the traffic signal.

The continued delay in addressing this issue not only reflects poorly on those responsible but also places the community at ongoing risk.

With Dasara fast approaching, I strongly urge the authorities to escalate this matter and ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out without further delay.

Public safety should be the top priority, and it is unacceptable for such a critical issue to remain unresolved.
