techNIEks, the three-day annual techno- cultural extravaganza of National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru, will commence from tomorrow (Mar. 5). Swami Yukteshanandaji Maharaj, Coordinator, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysuru, will inaugurate the fest tomorrow at the Diamond Jubilee Complex in the College premises at 10 am. D. Sudhanva, Hon. Secretary, NIE-Management Committee will be the guest of honour. R. Ashok Anand, Director NIE-Managment Committee will preside over the event. As part of the three-day fest, the College is conducting Battle of Bands, a national-level band competition in which many bands will put up their musical acts with a range of different styles and compete against each other for the title of best band. NIE College’s band ‘Swayam’ will be one among the many. Winners will be awarded prize money at an event scheduled to be held on Mar. 6 at NIE Golden Jubilee Block at 12 noon. Footloose: As part of the fest, the College is also hosting a dance competition, ‘Footloose’ on Mar. 5 at 4.30pm in the Basketball Court of the College campus in two categories — Single and Duo. The competition will be held in three rounds.
